The summary of the skills and experience I have gained over time as a mathematics classroom teacher ,head of mathematics department, professional membership and a researcher include:
a. Skills as a mathematics Teacher:
My teaching philosophy centers on creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment where every learner feels valued and motivated to reach their full potential.
Have higher levels of integrity, very respectful and professional at all times.
Have the ability to strictly observe and operate with the school values/ethos and traditions.
Have proficient classroom management skills to guarantee effective teaching and learning.
Passionate teacher able to work under very minimal supervision.
ICT compliant in all my lessons using modern mathematical applications such as GeoGebra, Mathlab, interactive smart-board and toddle.
Proficient user of Google suite, zoom, teams, Google meet for meetings, teaching and learning purposes.
My teaching uses Scaffolding and differentiated instructions aimed at meeting individual learner needs.
Have teaching strategies which inspire students to love mathematics and instill critical thinking in them at all times.
I have the ability to effectively teach mathematics for ages 13-19 years
Have the ability to effectively prepare students for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and by extension for international examination eg IGCSE, O-level and A-level examinations.
Very flexible to learn and effectively implement any international curriculum such as Cambridge IGCSE, British Curriculum, IB Diploma.
Adopts computational thinking skills in all my lessons

I lead by example as a leader in all aspects of our departmental programs.
I have a deep understanding of mathematics which can inspire my staff, students, effectively manage the departmental resources.
I have very high levels of organization skills and very strategic in my planning.
I am able to take part in developing and updating the curriculum from time to time going by the trends.
I am an effective team player who appreciates both the role of my staff members and students in my department towards realizing the institution’s vision and mission.
I am able to collect, analyze, interpret, communicate and store accurate and reliable departmental data in databases and as such all my decisions are data-driven aimed at improving students outcomes.
I am always available for learners and teachers challenges in the department which is carried out with high emotional intelligence.
I am an excellent coordinator among the administration, teachers and students in the department.
I am an excellent communicator which will guarantee order in the department.
I am a goal bound as a leader who incorporates the teachers and students in arriving at the clearly and attainable goals.
I believe in regular consultations/meetings and training for my staff members to keep them updated in mathematics.
c. Skills as a researcher in mathematics and related fields:
Doing a lot of researches in mathematics/statistics and data science
Very comfortable with most mathematical tech-Applications
Comfortable with most of the data analysis software: R, python, SPSS
I have currently enrolled for virtual classes with Digital Regenesys (IITPSA certified) to upgrade my skills on Data science (Python and AI)

About
I am a holder of two degrees from Kenya, BED (Mathematics & Geography) and a masters of science in Mathematics/ Statistics.
I have had 11 uninterrupted good years of classroom experience characterized by excellent achievements in teaching mathematics. Due to very strong passion for my work as well as attending regular refresher seminars and workshops to keep abreast with the present day skills in teaching mathematics both in Kenya and global spaces. I have acquired lots of certificates in this regard.
The above have enabled me to mentor students from diverse backgrounds and abilities consequently making them achieve their full potential.
Over the years, I have adopted varied teaching and learning strategies in mathematics such as:
i. Computational thinking skills which equips learners with the 21st century skills.
ii. Individualized student attention
iii. Ability grouping
iv. ICT integration
v. Peer teaching which enables students to share knowledge freely
vi. Collaboration
These have enabled my students to develop a very strong liking for my subject.
My masters degree too has enabled me to do a conference paper on best practices or teaching and learning mathematics which has positively impacted in the subject.
My leadership as head of mathematics department has guaranteed cohesion in the department, proper utilization of human resource, good relationship between students and the teachers, effective coordination of my department and school and finally align the teaching of mathematics in the department with the core objectives offering mathematics in Kenya secondary schools.
I am therefore excited to teach in a global classroom and given the opportunity, I promise to do even much better in this context.
My goal is to become a global educator who freely shares knowledge, inspires students and makes mathematics real in their daily lives.
