About
With a PhD in English and Communication Arts (Literature) from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and over twelve years of teaching and research experience, I bring a strong record of academic excellence, curriculum development, and scholarly contributions that align with the mission of your institution.
In my current role with the Rivers State Ministry of Education, I have successfully designed and delivered English Language and Literature curricula, mentored students in research and critical analysis, and contributed to teacher training workshops. My teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive learning, critical engagement with texts, and fostering independent thought among students.
Beyond teaching, I have actively contributed to the academic community through research and conference presentations. My recent paper, Navigating the Fecund Fields of Linguistics, Literature, Literacy and Community Studies: Law of Aesthetic Responses in Wole Soyinka’s Death and the King’s Horseman, presented at the National Languages Conference in Aba (2024), reflects my commitment to advancing literary scholarship. I have also presented at the West African Languages Congress (WALC), the Linguistics Association of Nigeria (LAN), and the International Council for Education Research and Training (ICERT).
My skills extend beyond pedagogy into academic research, curriculum innovation, and educational administration. I am proficient in data analysis tools such as PostgreSQL and Excel, which I integrate into educational research to enhance evidence-based decision-making. I am also certified in Human Resource Management and have participated in professional development programs with the British Council and A.S Hornsby Educational Trust, further strengthening my expertise in teaching methodologies and inclusive education.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my background, skills, and passion for teaching and research can contribute to the continued success of the great citadel of learning.
