About
I am Vanessa Audrey Sowu, the fourth (4th) child in a family of five (5) who was born and raised in
Ghana, one of Africa's country known for its rich culture and amazing hospitality.
I am a family oriented individual and my awesome husband and I are blessed with two (2) handsome boys.
I had all my basic, secondary and tertiary education in Ghana. I love education and the learning of
it. I am passionate about building the future and that is one of the reasons I pursued a
degree program in education. I currently hold a degree in Early childhood education from the
University of Cape Coast.
I have been teaching for the past six(6) years now and currently I am with the Mankessim Methodist Basic A school located in Mankessim-Ghana. I have had the privilege to teach all basic elementary subjects in my country spanning from English, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Religious and Moral Education and Ghanaian Language (Ga).
I have contributed immensely to the school's academic excellence and attendance-stability-index-records so far as the past 3 years history of the school is concerned. I have also had the privilege to serve as the assistant music director for the lower primary school.
I am popularly called "madam joy" because both the staff and the parents attribute the stability my class's attendance to the exciting-playful games I incorporate in my teaching style.
My creativity, classroom management skills, adaptability good communication, problem solving skills and being empathetic among others have made me a good asset to my team and the school as a whole.
I love working with kids and helping them achieve not only academic excellence but also develop their basic life skills. I model my lessons to be more student and individual centered and also adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of each student.
I love singing, going on family vacations, listening to music and cooking.
Thank you
