About
I am a highly experienced Elementary and Middle School Teacher with over 15 years of teaching, pastoral care, and student development experience in international school settings. I currently teach Middle School Mathematics (Years 7–9) at Braeburn Garden Estate International School, Nairobi, where I also serve as the Head of Boys’ Boarding and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
My professional journey spans both primary and lower secondary education, with more than eight years as an Elementary Teacher (Years 5 and 6) teaching Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, and Games. Prior to Braeburn, I taught in both elementary and middle school settings at Hermann Gmeiner School and Greenvale School, further strengthening my versatility across age groups and curricula.
As an experienced practitioner, I have consistently designed and delivered inquiry-based learning experiences that promote conceptual understanding, essential skills, and a genuine love for learning. I am deeply committed to differentiation and student agency, ensuring that every learner—regardless of ability or background—feels supported, appropriately challenged, and celebrated.
My academic background in Educational Psychology enhances my ability to understand diverse learner profiles, apply evidence-based instructional and behavioural strategies, and create classroom environments where students feel safe, confident, and motivated to succeed. Alongside my teaching role, my experience as a boarding parent and pastoral leader has strengthened my commitment to holistic education—supporting students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development within structured, inclusive communities.
In addition to my classroom expertise, I am a committed sports enthusiast with extensive experience teaching and coaching a wide range of sporting activities and leading after-school extracurricular programmes. I have coached football, hockey, rugby, and athletics, among other activities, using sport as a powerful platform to foster teamwork, resilience, confidence, leadership, and positive behaviour. Through these experiences, I actively support students’ holistic development while contributing meaningfully to the wider life and community of the school.
I am passionate about nurturing the whole child and modelling strong values in both academic and pastoral settings, while fostering respectful relationships, cultural sensitivity, and a sense of belonging among students.
