About
My name is Sulaiman Oyeleye, and I am an experienced Mathematics teacher from Nigeria with ten years of dedicated classroom practice. Teaching has been more than a profession for me—it is a commitment to helping young people develop confidence in a subject many consider difficult. Over the years, I have taught students across Grades 7 to 12, and I have been fortunate to see many of them achieve outstanding results in both local and international examinations. My students have consistently recorded a 95% success rate in Mathematics and Further Mathematics in WASSCE, and many of those I coached for SAT achieved scores between 700 and 800.
My teaching approach is built on clarity, patience, and the belief that every student can succeed when supported properly. I make deliberate use of technology to improve my lessons and simplify difficult concepts. Tools like Google Classroom, Desmos, GeoGebra, and digital lesson materials have helped me create a learning environment where students stay engaged and participate actively. I also design digital lesson notes and instructional videos, which many parents and students have found very helpful during and after school hours.
In my previous roles, I taught in different schools where I contributed to curriculum development and academic improvement. At Dee-Best Legacy College, I restructured the Mathematics scheme for Grades 9 to 12 and introduced digital learning materials that supported whole-school improvement in Math. At QEFAS Preparatory School, I helped students achieve a 90% success rate in their Basic Education Certificate Examinations and supported them in winning medals in Mathematics and Science competitions. Earlier in my career at De-Lilies Bee Academy, I prepared students for IGCSE Mathematics with a 95% pass rate and conducted special intervention classes that helped struggling learners improve their performance significantly.
Beyond the classroom, I enjoy supporting school activities. I revived the School Mathematics Club, coached the table tennis team, and participated actively in STEM awareness programs. These experiences helped me connect with students not just academically but also socially, which made teaching even more fulfilling.
Professionally, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Lagos, a Professional Diploma in Education from Babcock University, and certifications in Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics. I am also a licensed teacher under the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
Overall, my journey as a teacher has shaped me into a confident educator who understands how to support different categories of learners, use technology effectively, and create a classroom environment where students thrive. I am passionate about helping students achieve their best and contributing positively to any school community I find myself in.
