About
I am a dedicated Ghanaian Visual Art educator with over a decade of teaching experience and a strong commitment to academic excellence, creativity, and student development. Throughout my teaching career, I have demonstrated exceptional instructional skills, leadership, and a passion for nurturing young people both inside and outside the classroom. I firmly believe that education is a powerful tool for transforming lives, and I strive to inspire my students to become creative, confident, and responsible citizens.
I began my teaching career at Loho Roman Catholic Elementary School, where I taught Visual Art and encouraged young learners to express their creativity through artistic activities. I later joined Bechem Roman Catholic Elementary and Junior High School as a full-time teacher, where I taught Mathematics and Basic Design and Technology. This opportunity allowed me to broaden my teaching experience across multiple subject areas while developing effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of my students.
As part of my professional training, I completed my teaching internship at Presbyterian Senior High School, where I specialized in teaching Visual Art. After successfully completing my training, I was posted to Sunyani Senior High School, where I currently serve as a full-time Visual Art teacher. In this role, I teach a wide range of visual art disciplines, including drawing, painting, graphic design, sculpture, ceramics, and art appreciation. I am passionate about fostering creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation through practical, student-centered learning experiences.
In addition to my full-time responsibilities, I have had the privilege of serving as a part-time teacher at Good Heart Senior High School, Lawrence Senior High School, Bonoman Senior High School, Success Senior High School, and Bright Day Senior High School. Teaching in these institutions has given me valuable experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and has strengthened my ability to adapt my teaching methods to different learning environments and educational settings.
Beyond the classroom, I have a deep passion for sports and youth development. I have coached sports teams at Bechem Roman Catholic Elementary and Junior High School and Sunyani Senior High School, helping students develop discipline, teamwork, leadership, confidence, resilience, and sportsmanship. I believe that extracurricular activities play a vital role in shaping well-rounded individuals and complement academic achievement by promoting character development and lifelong skills.
My dedication to excellence in teaching has been recognized through professional achievement. During the 2023 academic year, I was honored with the Best Visual Art Department Teacher Award in recognition of my outstanding contribution to teaching excellence, innovation in art education, student achievement, and service to my school community. This recognition continues to motivate me to pursue excellence and make a meaningful impact in the lives of my students.
Over the years, I have developed strong competencies in curriculum planning, classroom management, student-centered instruction, assessment, mentoring, educational leadership, and the integration of creative teaching methodologies. My background in both Visual Art and Mathematics has equipped me with the versatility to teach across disciplines while promoting analytical thinking alongside artistic creativity.
I am committed to continuous professional growth and lifelong learning. I actively seek opportunities to enhance my knowledge, improve my teaching practices, and contribute to educational development. My goal is to empower students to discover their unique talents, build confidence in their abilities, and become lifelong learners who positively impact their communities.
Above all, I believe that every student is an artist with unique gifts and untapped potential. My mission as an educator is to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every learner is encouraged to think creatively, develop practical skills, embrace lifelong learning, and achieve both academic and personal success.
