About
I am Senyo Sosu, a distinguished educator, nonprofit leader, and advocate for STEM education, driven by a deep passion for empowering young people through innovative, inclusive, and practical learning opportunities. With over a decade of teaching experience spanning elementary to high school levels, I am widely recognized for my ability to inspire learners, mentor young educators, and design impactful educational programs that respond to real community needs.
I am the Co-founder, Board Member, and former Chief Executive Officer of the Fafali Organization in Ghana, where I led the development and implementation of transformative education and youth empowerment initiatives in underserved communities. In this role, I mentored volunteer teachers, strengthened instructional quality, and ensured that educators were equipped with the skills, tools, and values required to make a lasting impact. My leadership at Fafali emphasized STEM education, digital literacy, gender inclusion, and holistic child development.
Academically, I am pursuing a master’s degree online, building on a strong foundation that includes a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics from the University of Cape Coast, a Diploma in Basic Education from Wesley College of Education, Kumasi, and an Honors Diploma in Information Technology from NIIT. Trained as a Mathematics and Science teacher, I intentionally integrate technology into teaching and learning to promote problem-solving skills, innovation, and digital competence among students.
My commitment to education and community service was recognized with the 2019 Community Heroes Award (Education Category) by the African Centre for Peace Building (AFCOPB). My professional influence also extends internationally; one of my lesson plans was featured in the Technology & Engineering Teacher Journal (USA, September 2022 edition), providing practical classroom resources to educators around the world.
Beyond classroom teaching, I have contributed to impactful research and development work, collaborating with the Centre for Technology & Economic Development at New York University and the Institute of Statistical, Social, and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana. I have served as an advisor to Junior High School heads across Ghana, worked as a remedial teacher supporting students globally, and mentored countless learners and young professionals. Notably, I authored a successful proposal for the establishment of a STEM laboratory at Pure Kharis Academy, a facility projected to benefit over 100 students annually.
With a unique blend of academic expertise, hands-on classroom experience, research exposure, and visionary leadership, I remain committed to driving sustainable change in education, youth development, and community empowerment—both locally and globally.
