About
My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that, education should have a positive influence transforming challenges into opportunities and elevating strengths to excellence. In my current role at Swedru School of Business, I teach a comprehensive English curriculum including Grammar, Literature, Composition, Comprehension, and Phonetics. Additionally, at Heroes Remedial and Professional Institute, I prepare students for remedial examinations in English Language and Literature, demonstrating my commitment to supporting learners at all levels. I am professionally licensed with four certificates in students and school environment management.
I have also served in several leadership and administrative roles that have equipped me with skills essential for a dynamic school environment. As a Form Master, Dining Hall Master, and Disciplinary Committee Secretary, I have developed strong competencies in classroom management, student welfare, and administrative coordination. Additionally, I was the public relations officer for the department of Languages in University of Education (Kumasi Campus), now University of Skill Training and Entrepreneurial Development. These experiences have raised my ability to foster a supportive, structured, and respectful learning atmosphere. My fired love for field trips and socializing programs puts me on the map for employment when extra curricular activities come to play.
My passion for English extends beyond the classroom. I am an avid writer in literature, with an unpublished anthology of over twenty poems (Gye Nyame Anthology) and a published poem (Hollowpendence) featured on www.modernghana.com , a prominent news platform in Ghana. I own and unpublished learning aid for High Schools in Ghana (Gye Nyame series), which teaches a bit of grammar, reading comprehension and summary writing. These creative engagements allow me to bring authenticity and enthusiasm to the study of language and literary expression.
I am eager to bring my skills, energy, and cross-cultural perspective on board when hired. I am confident that my student-centered approach, combined with my dedication to holistic education, aligns with your school’s values and objectives.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my experience and passion for teaching can benefit your students and school community.
Sincerely,
Samuel Atta Poakwa.
