About
I believe Every learner can succeed when provided with an engaging, inclusive and supportive environment. I use differentiated instruction, formative assessment and strong relationships to help students achieve their potential while developing critical thinking, communication and lifelong learning skills. With ten years of experience teaching secondary English Language and Literature,a Bachelors Degree in Education(Arts)-English and literature, I have developed a passion for helping students become confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers. I am confident in my ability to contribute to student achievement and academic excellence.
Throughout my teaching career, I have consistently fostered engaging, student-centered classrooms that promote academic excellence. Through differentiated instruction and targeted interventions, I have contributed to four consecutive years of improved national examination performance. I have also served as Head of the Languages Department, Class Teacher, Music Patron, and Kenyatta University Mentor Representative, mentoring student teachers during practicum.
My extensive teaching experience, strong English language art content knowledge, and commitment to student success have prepared me to effectively serve diverse learners in both middle and high school settings. Throughout my career, I have created safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments supported by effective classroom management, well-established procedures and routines, and high expectations for all students. I use differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and data-driven decision-making to monitor progress, identify learning gaps, and implement targeted interventions.
