About
I am a dedicated Mathematics educator with over nine years of teaching experience, currently serving as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher at Agay National High School in Agusan del Norte, Philippines. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics from Caraga State University and graduate-level studies in a Master of Arts in Education, where I completed 36 academic units. I am also a licensed professional teacher with C1 Advanced English proficiency.
My passion for teaching is rooted in the belief that Mathematics is not an isolated subject but a vital part of everyday life. I strive to make learning meaningful by connecting mathematical concepts to real-world situations such as budgeting, data analysis, and practical problem-solving. This approach helps students recognize the relevance of Mathematics and develop a deeper appreciation for the subject.
My teaching philosophy centers on conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. I aim to guide students in understanding the “why” behind mathematical processes through engaging activities, visual representations, and interactive discussions. I foster a learner-centered classroom environment where students are encouraged to think critically, collaborate with peers, and actively participate in their learning.
I also integrate technology and instructional tools, such as interactive presentations and digital resources, to enhance student engagement and support diverse learning needs. Through authentic assessments and real-world problem-solving tasks, I evaluate student understanding while preparing them to apply their knowledge beyond the classroom.
Beyond academics, I am committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning. I value collaboration and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth to improve my teaching practice.
As an educator, my goal is not only to teach Mathematics but to inspire students to become independent thinkers and problem-solvers who can apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
