About
My name is Prince Opoku, and I am a trained Chemistry teacher from Ghana with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Education from the University of Education, Winneba. I am currently teaching chemistry and have experience working with students of diverse academic abilities and backgrounds.
I am a student-centered, reflective educator who believes all students can learn when instruction is engaging, structured, and differentiated. In my classroom, I focus on building strong relationships, setting clear expectations, and creating a safe, respectful learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and think critically.
I use a variety of instructional strategies such as hands-on laboratory activities, real-world examples, guided inquiry, and formative assessments to support student understanding. I also differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with varying learning styles.
As an international educator, I bring a global perspective to the classroom and value cultural diversity. Teaching in the United States will allow me to contribute my skills while also learning from American educational practices. I am committed to continuous professional growth, collaboration with colleagues, and supporting the academic and social development of all students.
I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to teach chemistry in the U.S. and to positively impact students through high expectations, encouragement, and meaningful instruction.
