About
My name is Phoebe Njambi Mwaura, a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher with over four years of experience teaching middle and high school students with diverse learning needs. I hold a Bachelor of Education in Special Needs Education from Mount Kenya University and have developed strong expertise in supporting learners through individualized instruction, curriculum adaptation, and inclusive teaching practices.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked at Joytown Secondary School and Upper Hill Mixed Senior School, where I gained valuable experience in assessing student needs, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitoring student progress, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure student success. My experience has enabled me to create positive learning environments that promote academic growth, independence, and social-emotional development.
My key skills include classroom management, differentiated instruction, student assessment, curriculum modification, behavior support, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. I am also proficient in mentoring students, fostering positive relationships, and supporting learners as they transition between educational levels and into post-school life.
Among my achievements is successfully supporting students with special needs to achieve their educational goals through personalized learning strategies and inclusive practices. I have consistently demonstrated commitment, flexibility, and professionalism while working with diverse learners and multidisciplinary teams.
I am a hardworking, adaptable, and positive educator who believes that every student can learn and succeed when provided with the right support and opportunities. My goal is to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of students by helping them develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed for future success.
