About
I am Philip Magadan, a licensed Mathematics teacher from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, with nearly ten years of teaching experience in junior high school, senior high school, and college. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics and have pursued graduate studies in Mathematics and Mathematics Education. I am currently serving as a Mathematics Teacher at Tagoloan Community College, where I teach General Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Statistics and Probability, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mathematics in the Modern World, and mathematics education courses.
Throughout my teaching career, I have developed strong skills in lesson planning, curriculum development, classroom management, assessment, technology integration, differentiated instruction, student mentoring, and data-driven decision-making. I am experienced in teaching diverse learners and creating engaging, collaborative learning environments that promote critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and real-world application of mathematics. I also have experience developing instructional materials, communicating with parents, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to improve student learning outcomes.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have served in several leadership and coordination roles, including Dean of Discipline, General Academic Strand Coordinator, District Mathematics Coordinator, Mathematics Coordinator, Mathematics Club Coordinator, and Regional Module Writer for General Mathematics. These positions strengthened my leadership, organizational, curriculum-development, and student-support skills.
My professional achievements include being recognized as an Outstanding Mathematics Teacher, receiving an Outstanding Teacher award at the district level, coaching students in MTAP competitions, and contributing to the development of General Mathematics learning modules. During my university years, I was also a Dean's Lister, academic scholarship recipient, Leadership Awardee, and leader of mathematics and education organizations.
I consider myself a dedicated, adaptable, reliable, and results-oriented educator who is committed to helping students achieve academic success. I am eager to bring my mathematics expertise, teaching experience, leadership skills, and commitment to student-centered education to an organization where I can contribute meaningfully while continuing to grow professionally.
