About
I am a Biology and Chemistry teacher with over six years of experience teaching secondary school learners under the 8-4-4, CBE and IGCSE systems. I am currently at Alliance High School where I have worked on improving learner performance, including raising the KCSE Biology mean score by about 15% through focused teaching, regular assessment, and structured remediation. I also make use of digital tools such as Google Classroom and Zeraki to support teaching and assessment.
Before this, I worked at Lukenya School as an Assistant Biology and Chemistry teacher in the IGCSE programme. My work involved supporting practical lessons, supervising laboratory investigations, and guiding learners through revision and field-based activities such as ecological studies. I also participated in running environmental clubs and science activities that helped learners strengthen their understanding of science concepts.
I did my teaching practice at Alliance High School, where I gained hands-on experience in lesson planning, classroom teaching, marking, and involvement in co-curricular activities.
Beyond classroom teaching, I am engaged in curriculum development and academic work. I serve as a curriculum developer and biology book evaluator at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) and have also contributed to educational publishing. In addition, I support co-curricular programmes as a hockey coach, 4K Club patron and guidance and counselling facilitator.
My strengths lie in classroom instruction, assessment design, differentiated teaching, classroom management, and learner mentorship. I focus on improving learner outcomes through practical, structured and supportive teaching approaches.
