About

My name is Oshin Firaza, and I am a dedicated and experienced Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies) teacher with ten years of teaching experience. I am passionate about education and committed to helping students develop knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes that will prepare them to become responsible, critical, and active members of society.
I earned my Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies from Bataan Peninsula State University and successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). My educational background provided me with a strong foundation in social sciences, teaching strategies, curriculum development, assessment, and classroom management. I have also pursued graduate studies to further improve my professional knowledge and skills.
I currently teach Grade 7 Araling Panlipunan at City of Balanga National High School–Junior High School in Balanga City, Bataan, Philippines. In my role, I teach students about history, geography, culture, government, economics, and the development of societies. I believe that Social Studies is not simply about memorizing facts, names, and dates. It is about helping learners understand the world, appreciate different cultures, examine social issues, and develop informed opinions and responsible decisions.
As a teacher, I strongly believe in student-centered learning. I create learning experiences that encourage students to participate actively, express their ideas, ask meaningful questions, collaborate with others, and connect lessons to real-life situations. I use differentiated instruction, collaborative learning, gamification, project-based activities, literacy and numeracy integration, and technology-supported strategies to make lessons engaging, inclusive, and meaningful.
I am particularly interested in educational technology and innovative teaching practices. I understand that learners have different abilities, interests, experiences, and learning needs. Therefore, I continuously explore creative strategies and digital tools that can support effective learning. I aim to provide opportunities for students to become independent learners, critical thinkers, problem solvers, and effective communicators.
Beyond classroom teaching, I have participated in school programs, student organizations, community projects, leadership activities, journalism, health awareness programs, and other initiatives that support student development. These experiences strengthened my leadership, communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. They also taught me the importance of collaboration among teachers, students, parents, school leaders, and community stakeholders.
I consider myself hardworking, adaptable, responsible, and committed to lifelong learning. I believe that teachers should continuously reflect on their practices, welcome new ideas, and improve their skills to meet the changing needs of learners and society. I am open to new opportunities that will allow me to grow professionally, share my experiences, and contribute positively to a diverse educational community.
I also value empathy, patience, creativity, and integrity, because these qualities help me build positive relationships with learners and create a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom environment.
Ultimately, my goal as an educator is to inspire students and help them recognize their potential. I want to create a classroom where learners feel respected, supported, challenged, and motivated to succeed. For me, teaching is more than a profession; it is a meaningful responsibility and an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of students and the community.
