About
I am a dedicated and experienced educator with over twenty years of teaching experience at the primary level. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business Enterprise from Edinburgh Napier University, an Associate Degree in Primary Teacher Education, and a Teaching Certificate at the Primary Level. Throughout my teaching career, I have developed strong skills in lesson planning, curriculum development, classroom management, student assessment, differentiated instruction, communication, and the integration of technology into teaching and learning.
I currently work as a Grade 2 Teacher at Vieux Fort Infant School, where I also serve as the Mathematics and Science Coordinator. In these roles, I plan and implement learning activities, monitor student performance, develop strategies to improve achievement, coordinate school-wide initiatives, and support other teachers. I have consistently achieved strong student outcomes, with student performance exceeding the 80% benchmark, and I have also developed and taught entrepreneurship skills to young learners.
My previous teaching experience includes working with Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 students, as well as teaching Physical Education and Information Technology. I have maintained strong student pass rates, organized sporting activities, trained young athletes, and helped students develop their knowledge and confidence in using technology. I have also organized workshops to help fellow teachers develop their ICT skills.
I believe that effective teaching requires patience, creativity, good communication, and an understanding of the individual needs of each learner. I use learner-centred approaches and educational technology to make lessons engaging and meaningful. I am proficient in tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace for Education, Google Classroom, and other learning management systems. I am also committed to continuous professional development and have completed training in areas such as digital learning, curriculum development, technology integration, project-based learning, and positive behaviour management.
Some of my notable achievements include helping my students maintain strong academic performance, winning the best under-nine sports team four times, and supporting colleagues through ICT training and professional workshops. I am hardworking, patient, responsible, adaptable, and committed to helping students reach their full potential. I am passionate about education and would bring my experience, knowledge, leadership skills, and dedication to any teaching position.
