Good day!
My name is Milagrosa Q. Laranjo, a Social Studies teacher with over Eighteen (18) years of teaching experience. I am currently teaching at Placida Mequiabas National High Schools in Lanao del Norte, Philippines as a 9th grade secondary teacher handling Social Studies. I want to express my interest to apply as a Social Studies teacher in your school. I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies at Bohol International College in Tagbilaran City, Bohol last March 2004. I pursued Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management at Southern Mindanao College in Pagadian City, Philippines and graduated last March 20, 2020.
As an experienced teacher with advanced degree in teaching, I have proven strategies that helped my students understand the vast concepts of global and national social issues. My students are exposed to do collaboration and respectful debates about varied topics that relates to the understanding of the geographical, historical, and cultural factors that influence the development of world regions. The primary purpose of education, in my view, is to empower students to become active participants in society. Beyond acquiring knowledge, education should instill a sense of responsibility and a commitment to contributing positively to the community and the world at large. Social studies, as a vehicle for this purpose, equips students with the tools to analyze, question, and interpret the world around them. As a Social Studies teacher, I recognize the importance of preparing students for a rapidly changing world. Alongside content knowledge, I aim to cultivate skills such as adaptability, resilience, and a love for lifelong learning. These attributes empower students to navigate the uncertainties of the future and continue their
intellectual and personal development beyond the classroom. I am a team player. I try my best to contribute my skills and resources for the benefit of my team and the school in general.
