About
I hold a Masters' degree in math education and have been teaching math for twelve years in a public junior high school setting. I specialize in Algebra, but I can also handle Statistics & Probability and Pre-Calculus.
In my previous role, I was assigned as math coordinator and had initiated several activities that promote interests in math. One of them that I considered successful was the peer tutoring activity, which I designed to help students understand the concepts of the lesson in math and solve their math problems through the help of their classmates. I also coached potential contestants to compete in the math competition held in the school district and collaborated with colleagues from other departments to organize math annual culminating activity in our school. I attended many seminars and workshops that help me develop my skills in teaching and learned different teaching strategies to apply in my class.
In my class, students are valued and respected. So, I always set rules and routines to minimize disruptions and conflicts among them. I always make sure that no one is being left behind by encouraging them to work together as a team and help each other to achieve their learning goal.
