About
I am a well-qualified mathematician. I have a mechanical engineering degree, and I practiced as an aircraft engineer in the industry. I have enhanced myself with the use of I.C.T. facilities in teaching by acquiring a postgraduate diploma in information technology. I have experience as an examiner at both GCE advanced level and GCSE, as I am an examiner for both EDEXCEL and OCR.
I have taught, and continue to teach mathematics at all levels at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 (Age groups from 11 to 18 years). At Key Stage 5 I have the experience of teaching Pure maths Statistics, Decision maths and Mechanics.
In all the schools I have taught I have been actively involved in preparations of schemes of work and resources at all levels. I have taught the specifications of the three major exams bodies in the UK (EDEXCEL, AQA and OCR). In my current school, I’m in charge of gifted and talented students.
Throughout my teaching career my students have performed well in their exams. Most of them either achieve their targets or exceed it. Here are a few examples of my students’ performance in their exams; at Stokesley school, I took 32 students to the GCSE exams and 30 achieved grade A or A* with only 2 grades B. The same year my A level statistics class (made up of 15 students) achieved 11 grade A and 3 grade B and 1 grade C. At the King’s Academy I took 26 students to GCSE module 3 exams, 16 achieved A*, 9 achieved A and 1 achieved grade C. At Stockton sixth-form college I had a class of 21 students for A2 exam, 19 achieved grades A and A*, with only 2 achieving grade B. In my current school, during the 2022 GCSE exam my class was made up of 34 students; 3 achieved grade 6, 5 achieved grade 9, and the rest achieved grades 7 and 8.
