About
am a trained and experienced secondary school teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Education (Arts with IT) from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, where I studied from 2012 to 2016, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology at Mount Kenya University, expected to be completed in 2027. I have over eight years of full-time teaching experience at the secondary level, currently teaching History and Kiswahili at Mbita High School since 2023, where I promote inclusive learning environments and innovative instructional practices that contributed to a strong school mean score of 9.6 in the 2025 national examinations. My teaching approach integrates multimedia tools, primary source analysis, and cross-curricular projects that connect history with literature and the arts to foster critical thinking and engagement. Previously, I taught at Ken Obura Secondary School from 2017 to 2022, where I used diverse instructional strategies, designed and assessed Kiswahili and History curricula, supported co-curricular activities at the national level, and served on the disciplinary committee to promote positive student behaviour. In addition to my teaching roles, I am certified by the Teachers Service Commission of Kenya, hold a Middle School Social Studies Praxis certification, and am trained in Basic Life Skills, including First Aid and CPR. I am proficient in English and a native Swahili speaker, possess strong computer skills, and actively engage in community service, extracurricular clubs, cultural exploration, and student mentorship.
