About
I am Mercy Naibei, a Senior English Language Teacher with 9 years of experience working in senior school. I am reaching out to express my strong interest in joining the J-1 Teacher Exchange Program with the introduction of Competency based curriculum in Kenya this exchange program will aid in getting the knowlege to apply in my country later.
Throughout my career, I have consistently aligned my teaching practice with curriculum goals by developing both long and short range lesson plans tailored to student needs. I take pride in designing instructional activities that keep students actively engaged in meaningful learning, and I have a strong track record of adapting materials to serve learners from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds with varying learning styles.
As a Debate Patron, I have taken students all the way to international competitions [Rwanda], which speaks to my commitment to developing critical, creative, and evaluative thinking well beyond the standard curriculum. I use both traditional and alternative assessment strategies to track student growth and inform my instructional planning, and I maintain a positive, organized classroom environment where every student feels safe and supported.
I am equally comfortable, managing classroom resources, enforcing school policy, and communicating effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators. I understand the importance of record keeping, data interpretation, and continuous curriculum improvement, and I bring all of that to work every single day.
