About
RE: APPLICATION FOR TEACHING POSITION
Dear Hiring Manager
It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my application for the High School Teaching position at your institution. With over 14 years of experience in educational leadership and classroom instruction, I am eager to bring my passion for Social Studies and my committed Christian faith to a community that prioritizes both academic excellence and spiritual growth.
My professional journey has been defined by a "servant-leadership" philosophy. Currently serving as the Principal of St. Ruth Senior Girls School, I have balanced administrative oversight with active classroom teaching in Social Studies, Cambridge Geography (Year 7–13), and Global Perspectives. This dual role has sharpened my ability to manage complex classroom dynamics while maintaining a high standard of instructional quality. Prior to this, my tenure as Deputy Principal and Dorm Mistress at St. Hannah’s Girls High School allowed me to nurture students' holistic development, ensuring their well-being both inside and outside the classroom.
I meet and exceed the requirements for this role in the following ways:
• Faith and Lifestyle: As a staunch Christian, I maintain a lifestyle consistent with the teachings of Christ. I am in full agreement with the NICS Statement of Faith and am dedicated to integrating biblical worldview principles into the Social Studies curriculum to help students see God’s hand in history and society.
• Educational Qualifications: I hold a Bachelor of Education (Arts) in Geography and Kiswahili, a Certificate in International Curriculum from Riara University, and I am currently completing my MA in Counseling Psychology at Daystar University. These qualifications ensure I am well-versed in both pedagogy and the emotional needs of adolescent learners.
• Diverse Curriculum Experience: I am highly proficient in the Cambridge International Curriculum, particularly for secondary levels (Years 7 through 13), making me well-equipped to handle the rigors of an international school environment.
• Adaptability and Energy: My colleagues know me as a creative and energetic educator. Whether designing interactive lesson plans or coaching team members, I remain teachable and flexible, always seeking the best "best practices" to improve student outcomes.
I am particularly drawn to your school's commitment to fostering a positive, Christ-centered learning environment. I am confident that my blend of leadership experience, academic background, and unwavering faith will make me a valuable asset to your faculty.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how my skills and my testimony can contribute to the mission of your school.
Yours faithfully,
Maureen Nasimiyu Wafula
