About
I have 22 years of experience in teaching secondary science, six years at a private catholic school and 17 years at a public high school. I love helping people learn about different cultures, and I am excited to share my culture with the learners in other countries, such as the United States of America.
In my current position as a Grade 9 science teacher at Salvador National High School, I handle 6 sections of students with diverse learning abilities. I take great pride in the success of keeping 90% of my students actively participating in class. The number of absentees in my class is minimal because of positive reinforcements that include merits and acknowledgment.
I can easily adjust to different working setups and work with minimal supervision. I value camaraderie and collaboration as important factors toward harmonious working relationships. I can work with students and colleagues from different backgrounds, which matches the goals of the J-1 program.
I am interested in joining schools and districts whose vision focuses on ensuring all learners develop the essential knowledge and skills of successful, future-ready graduates. I am in solidarity with the mission of inspiring learners to reach their highest potential as responsible and productive citizens. I am confident that my abilities in managing the classroom, planning lessons, and communicating effectively will help schools in the fulfillment of their mission. I would love to share my skills and passion in supporting students develop into responsible adults and valuable contributors to national progress.
