About
I am a dedicated secondary school Mathematics teacher with more than twelve years of classroom experience preparing senior students for high-stakes examinations in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and I am fully licensed by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). I have also been awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for England, a recognition that confirms my teaching qualifications meet rigorous international standards and further strengthens my readiness to contribute to a diverse school system.
In my classroom, Mathematics is taught as something practical and connected to real life. I use relevant examples from sport, business and daily decision making to make topics like probability, algebra and statistics feel accessible and useful. I integrate technology purposefully, not as a distraction, but as a way to help students visualise problems and explore data. I check for understanding continuously through low-stakes, quick assessments so that I can reteach a concept the moment I sense confusion. My students have often told me I am patient, approachable and persistent, and I consider that trust an essential part of real learning.
I have also spent many holiday periods volunteering with non-governmental organisations, offering free Mathematics lessons to students from underserved communities. That experience sharpened my ability to differentiate instruction and deepened my commitment to making sure every learner, regardless of background, can succeed. I am now keen to bring my experience, my certifications, and my student-centred approach to a secondary school in the United States, where I can collaborate with a dedicated team and help all students build genuine confidence in their ability to think and reason mathematically.
