About
I am an experienced teacher with 14 years of teaching experience. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Psychology, completed 18 units under a Certificate in Teaching Program, and passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers. To further broaden my knowledge and professional expertise, I pursued graduate studies, earning 9 units toward a Master in Education major in Educational Management and 30 units toward a Master of Arts in Counseling.
During my first year of teaching, I handled pre-elementary learners, teaching Geography and English. As a beginning teacher, and considering my educational background, I initially found the experience challenging. However, with the support and assistance of my colleagues, as well as my continuous participation in trainings and seminars, I was able to overcome these challenges and develop my teaching skills.
To broaden my teaching experience, I decided to resign from my first teaching position and pursue an opportunity in collegiate education. I taught General Psychology and Child and Adolescent Development to students enrolled in Bachelor of Education major in Secondary Education, Bachelor of Education major in Elementary Education, and Bachelor of Science major in Criminology programs.
I later applied for a position in the public school system, where I taught Values Education and Technology and Livelihood Education to Grades 7 to 10 learners. I also embraced the opportunity to teach English in the Middle East, specifically in Saudi Arabia. After nine months, I returned to my home country and reapplied to the public school system, where I resumed teaching Values Education to Grades 7 to 10 learners.
At present, I serve as the Special Needs Education Coordinator in our school. In this role, I support my fellow teachers by providing guidance on appropriate accommodation techniques and strategies through Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions. I also coordinate with Special Needs Education teachers, stakeholders, and other professionals to provide appropriate support and assistance to learners with special educational needs.
Throughout my 14 years in the teaching profession, I have gained diverse experience across different educational levels and learning environments. These experiences have strengthened my adaptability, commitment to continuous professional development, and dedication to providing meaningful and inclusive learning experiences for all learners.
