About
I am a dedicated educator with 13 years of teaching experience at Kabolecho Girls High School, Kenya. My passion is inclusive education, creating classrooms where students with autism, slow learning needs, and gifted/talented abilities all receive the right level of challenge and support.
For the past several years I have also served as the Guidance and Counseling Teacher. In this role I provide one-on-one counseling, group sessions on resilience and self-esteem, and work closely with parents and teachers. This experience sharpened my skills in behavior support, early intervention, and student advocacy.
*My Achievements*
1. *IEP Development & Implementation*: Created and tracked IEP-style individualized learning plans for students with autism and processing delays. Set measurable goals in communication, social skills, and academics, then adjusted strategies term by term based on progress data. Used visual schedules, sensory breaks, and task breakdowns to improve focus and independence.
2. *Differentiated Instruction*: Designed tiered lessons and enrichment projects so gifted/talented learners were challenged while slow learners received scaffolded support in the same classroom.
3. *Student Wellbeing Program*: Launched a peer-mentorship and counseling schedule that reduced stress-related absenteeism and improved overall classroom engagement.
4. *Collaboration*: Partnered with subject teachers and parents to align home-school strategies, ensuring consistency in behavior support and learning goals.
I believe every student can grow with the right plan and support. I’m eager to bring my IEP experience, counseling background, and commitment to inclusive, data-driven teaching to a U.S. special needs classroom.
