About
I am a passionate and dedicated educator with over 24 years of experience working in international school settings across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Senegal. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach students from Early Years through elementary grades, and I have developed a deep appreciation for creating classrooms where children feel safe, valued, encouraged, and excited to learn. I hold a degree, a Montessori Diploma, and a CACHE Level 4 qualification. I have also received training in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), British, Cambridge, and American Common Core curricula.
My strengths lie in building positive relationships with children, planning engaging and differentiated lessons, managing diverse classrooms, and using assessment information to understand and respond to students’ individual needs. I am comfortable using technology to support learning and have experience with platforms such as Seesaw, Tapestry, and PowerSchool. I believe strongly in making learning meaningful and hands-on, whether through small-group reading instruction, math games, learning centers, collaborative projects, or real-life experiences. I also enjoy working closely with parents and colleagues because I believe that children make the greatest progress when teachers and families work together.
Over the years, I have taken on leadership responsibilities in addition to classroom teaching, including serving as Head of Early Years, Cambridge Examinations Officer, and Performing Arts Coordinator. One achievement I am particularly proud of is supporting students who were experiencing gaps in reading and mathematics by using targeted small-group instruction, peer support, regular assessment, and close progress monitoring. I have also been involved in curriculum development, accreditation work, and professional collaboration. Above all, I see teaching as more than delivering lessons—it is about helping children discover their abilities, develop confidence, become independent learners, and grow into kind and responsible individuals. I bring warmth, patience, adaptability, and a genuine love for teaching to every classroom I enter.
