About
I am a passionate and dedicated educator with over six years of teaching experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education. My work is driven by a strong belief in the power of art as a tool to support children’s emotional expression, behavioral regulation, and overall development especially for students with special needs and mental health challenges.
Throughout my teaching career, I have intentionally used art-based approaches to help students communicate feelings they may struggle to express verbally. Through drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed-media activities, I have supported children in building self-confidence, improving focus, and developing positive coping strategies. Art has been an effective medium for de-escalation, emotional regulation, and engagement, particularly for students who exhibit behavioral difficulties or resistance to traditional classroom instruction.
I have experience working in structured educational environments where consistency, routine, and individualized support are essential. I am skilled in adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs, implementing positive behavior support strategies, and creating safe, inclusive spaces where students feel respected and understood. My approach is patient, empathetic, and trauma-informed, allowing me to build trusting relationships with students who have experienced emotional or behavioral challenges.
I work well within multidisciplinary teams and value collaboration with educators, support staff, and caregivers to promote holistic student growth. My key strengths include creativity, adaptability, strong classroom management, and a deep commitment to student-centered learning. I am motivated by seeing students make progress not only academically, but emotionally and socially, and I am committed to using art as a meaningful tool to help children thrive.
