About
I am Kurtt Michael Watin Labandero, a Teacher I (Secondary) with the Department of Education—General Santos City (Lozano High School) on permanent appointment effective July 1, 2025, following prior substitute Teacher I assignments at Lagao National High School–Annex (April–May 2024) and Engracia L. Valdomar National High School (November–December 2024). I was born in General Santos City and I am married with children, balancing family life with my professional responsibilities.
My educational foundation includes elementary at Jose C. Catolico Sr. Elementary School (2007) and secondary at Lagao National High School–Annex (2013), culminating in a Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English (2018) from Stratford International School. I have pursued graduate studies toward a Master of Arts in Education, Major in Teaching English as a Second Language at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University Graduate School, having completed 33 units as of 2024. I am a Licensed Professional Teacher (RA 1080), having passed the board in Davao City on September 30, 2018, with my PRC license currently valid until December 29, 2028.
Before entering public service, I gained extensive private-sector experience—as an Outbound Call Center Agent at Six Eleven Corporation (2016–2017), a Teacher Tutor(2018–2020), and later Branch Manager (2020–2024) at Braintrust Tutorial Learning Center which honed my communication, leadership, and instructional skills now applied in the classroom. I continuously upskill through professional development, including division and NEAP‑aligned trainings such as Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program, Developmentally Appropriate Practices in Early Language Literacy and Numeracy, Action Research Proposal workshops, Gender and Development sessions, and national master classes and projects (e.g., ACELT SEED, NEAP master classes for Grade 7), completed primarily in 2024–2025 with corresponding credit hours.
Beyond school, I have served my community as Catholic Youth Ministry President at Saint Michael the Archangel Parish (2013–2016), rendering 960 hours of volunteer service, and I maintain interests and skills such as playing the piano and driving, along with active church youth ministry membership.
