About
Mabuhay! I’m Joshua C. Cardillo from the Philippines. I currently teach Mathematics to Grade 9 and Grade 10 students at Dela Paz National High School. I have been teaching for 6 years—2 years as a private high school teacher, 1 year as a substitute teacher and now 3 years in as a public high school teacher under the Department of Education. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics as well as Master of Arts in Education major also in Mathematics. I am also planning to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics Education to further deepen my knowledge, skills, and understanding of the field.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in a learner-centered and growth-oriented approach. I believe that every student has the ability to learn and improve, but they may learn in different ways and at different paces. As a teacher, I see myself not only as someone who provides knowledge, but also as a facilitator who guides students to discover, understand, and apply what they have learn.
My goal as a teacher is to help my students become confident, independent, and motivated learners. I want to give them opportunities to explore, ask questions, solve problems, and learn from their mistakes. For me, a successful teacher is not only someone who teaches the subject, but someone who helps students develop the skills and confidence they can use both inside and outside the classroom. Thank you.
