About
I am John Mark Estorninos, a licensed professional teacher from the Philippines specializing in Mathematics education with over six years of teaching experience in both senior high school and college levels. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics at Sorsogon State University to further strengthen my expertise in the field.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that mathematics is not just about numbers, but about developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and lifelong learning habits. I strive to create a learning environment that is engaging, inclusive, and student-centered, where learners are encouraged to explore, question, and apply their knowledge meaningfully in real-life contexts. I view teaching as a collaborative journey where both teacher and students grow together.
Throughout my career, I have taught a variety of subjects including General Mathematics, Statistics and Probability, Pre-Calculus, Business Mathematics, Quantitative Research, and Advanced Statistics. I have also handled Social Sciences subjects, demonstrating versatility in instruction. Beyond classroom teaching, I have served as a class adviser, Mathematics Club adviser, Subject Group Head for STEM, and School Mathematics Coordinator. I have also initiated and organized events like Mathematics Weeks and Festivals, helping cultivate appreciation for mathematics among students.
I have actively pursued professional development by attending numerous seminars and workshops on higher-order thinking skills, robotics for STEM, educational innovations, assessment of 21st-century skills, and research in education. These experiences have equipped me to integrate modern strategies and technologies in my teaching.
I am fluent in English and Filipino, proficient in Microsoft Office and online tools such as Canva, and adaptable to both traditional and digital learning platforms.
