About
My name is Ivy Gail Baladiang Benito, a teacher with 7 years of teaching experience. I am
currently teaching at Silangan National High School in Rizal, Philippines, as a 12th-grade English
Language Arts teacher. I have completed the online application on the district’s website. I want
to express my interest in applying as an English teacher at your school.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English at ICCT Colleges
Foundation Inc. in Rizal, Philippines, on December 21, 2017. I pursued a Master of Arts in
Teaching major in English at the University of Rizal System in Rizal, Philippines, and graduated
last June 29, 2023. I am a passionate English teacher who believes that students should be
involved in the learning process by providing experiential learning to have effective instruction,
as well as implementing effective teaching strategies and utilizing technology to adapt to the
needs of 21st century learners. believe in the transformative power of literature to cultivate
critical thinking. I emphasize the real-world application of English skills. Whether it's effective
communication in various professional settings, crafting persuasive arguments, or contributing
meaningfully to civic discourse, I aim to equip students with the practical skills necessary for
success in their academic and personal lives.
As a secondary English teacher, my philosophy of education is built upon the belief that the
study of English is a gateway to personal, academic, and societal growth. I am committed to
fostering an environment that promotes critical thinking, effective communication, creativity,
and a deep appreciation for literature. English education provides a platform for creative
expression. I encourage students to explore their imagination and creativity through writing,
analysis, and interpretation of literary works. I believe that nurturing creativity is vital to
helping students find their voice and develop a sense of self. I believe that powerful teaching
and learning in English helps students to gain access to these conversations and learn when
and how to add their own voice. Finally, I connect the study of English to real-world
applications. Whether through writing for a broader audience, exploring current events
through literature, or engaging in persuasive communication, I help students see how the skills
and knowledge they acquire in the classroom are directly applicable to their lives.
