Good day!
My name is Ivy Gail Baladiang Benito, a teacher with seven years of teaching experience. I am currently teaching at Silangan National High School in Rizal, Philippines, as a Grade 12 English
Language Arts teacher. I would like to express my sincere interest in applying for the English teacher position at your
school.
I earned my Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in English, from ICCT Colleges Foundation Inc. on December 21, 2017. I also completed my Master of Arts in Teaching, major in English, at
the University of Rizal System on June 29, 2023. As an educator, I am passionate about creating
meaningful and engaging learning experiences. I strongly believe that students learn best through active participation, experiential learning, and the effective integration of technology
suited for 21st-century learners.
I believe in the transformative power of literature in developing critical thinking and communication skills. I emphasize real-world applications of English, helping students become effective communicators, critical readers, and confident writers who can engage in professional and civic discourse. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering creativity, encouraging
students to express their ideas through writing, and guiding them in analyzing and interpreting literary texts. I aim to help learners discover their voice and apply their knowledge beyond the
classroom.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have actively contributed to journalism-related activities. I was recognized as a 2nd Place Winning Coach in News Writing and Sports Writing,
and a 3rd Place Winning Coach in Feature Writing during the 2024 Sub-Office Press Conference.
I was also included among the Top 10 in Editorial Writing during the division training titled Beyond the Byline: Upskilling School Paper Advisers of SDO Rizal. These achievements reflect
my commitment to developing students’ writing skills and excellence in campus journalism.
