About
I am an experienced English educator with two degrees in English (B.A. and M.A.), a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), and multiple professional certifications (IGCSE, TKT, TEFL, among others). I am currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Leadership in Education at Liverpool John Moores University. With nearly 20 years of teaching experience across upper primary to A level, I have developed a meticulous approach that blends high standards with a deep commitment to student growth.
I create lessons that combine structure with creativity, rigor with exploration; and my lessons are dynamic, engaging, and designed to foster both academic excellence and personal growth. My students get constant opportunities to engage in a mix of activities that help them develop all aspects of their communication skills: creative writing, grammar, oral skills, literature analysis, reading and listening comprehension, vocabulary building, and spelling.
I adopt an eclectic teaching style, integrating diverse methodologies to challenge students to think critically, communicate effectively, write creatively, investigate thoroughly, and collaborate meaningfully. My lessons include discussion, interactive exercises, literary practice, real-world examples, and reflective tasks that make learning both practical and inspiring. I use differentiated resources, instructional aids, and stimulating activities to ensure every student can participate and progress.
Additionally, as a published writer, I bring authentic literary experiences into the classroom, helping students connect theory with practice. Beyond teaching, I also mentor, coach, and guide students, fostering confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Ultimately, I consciously create a positive, inclusive environment where every student feels empowered to reach their full potential. Each lesson is more than instruction; it is an opportunity to inspire creativity, nurture critical thinking, and open doors to new possibilities in language and beyond.
