About
I am a licensed Mathematics teacher with over eight years of classroom experience across primary, junior high, and senior high school levels in Ghana. I currently teach Core Mathematics to more than 175 students at Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi, where I design differentiated lessons using worked examples, guided practice, problem-solving activities, and real-world applications. Within my first academic term, my instructional approach contributed to a 25% increase in end-of-term assessment scores, while structured remediation sessions improved comprehension and retention by 30% among struggling learners.
My passion for Mathematics education is deeply personal. Growing up, I saw three of my older brothers end their formal education because they failed Mathematics, a core requirement for tertiary admission in Ghana. That experience shaped my belief that many students do not lack ability; rather, they often approach Mathematics with fear, anxiety, and low confidence. In September 2023, I founded the Maths4All Initiative to help address this challenge. Through the initiative, I mobilized nine volunteer teachers to provide free after-school and weekend support and developed GameMaths, a gamified curriculum that turns Mathematics topics into interactive games and challenges. The initiative has reached 426 students, raised average performance from 40% to 67%, and contributed to a 100% BECE Mathematics pass rate across 10 partner schools since 2024.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from the University of Education, Winneba, and I am licensed by the Ghana National Teaching Council. My strengths include differentiated instruction, game-based learning, curriculum design, learner assessment, remediation, classroom management, and teaching in low-resource settings. I am committed to helping students build confidence, master foundational concepts, and see Mathematics as a subject they can understand, enjoy, and use to expand their future opportunities.
