About
My name is Gelli Anne Obillo Laborte, an elementary educator with 10 years of teaching
experience. I am currently teaching at Moonwalk Elementary School in Las Piñas City,
Philippines as a 4th and 5th grade teacher handling Science and Mathematics. I graduated with a Bachelor of Elementary Education major in General Education at Cagayan
State University in Tuguegarao City, Philippines last April 4, 2014. I pursued Master of Arts in
Education major in Educational Management at Saint Francis of Asissi College in Las Piñas City,
Philippines from February 2022 up to the present with 30 academic units. I am a passionate and
hardworking educator who believes that all children are capable of learning when given
developmentally-appropriate learning opportunities. I strive to provide the highest quality of
learning by implementing hands-on experiences where students can be involved in the learning
process. As an educator, I make sure that students achieve their best potentials by providing
meaningful learning activities. I love to let my students enjoy coming to school so I provide fun
and meaningful activities to motivate them to come to school and learn. I believe in a
student-centered approach that values the input and experiences of each learner.
I believe my number one role, as an educator, is to love my students. My hope is that each day
in some way I would show all my kids that I love them and believe in them. I feel it is so
important to build a relationship with each child who comes into my classroom and to earn
their trust and respect. When a relationship has been built between the students and myself,
they will soar academically. I hold a strong belief that all children should be treated equally
regardless of their background, race, economic background or disabilities. I believe that every
child is different and learns in different ways. When planning lessons, I keep in mind that
students need different experiences, some auditory, some visual, and some kinesthetic. I feel it
is important for me as a teacher to be flexible and to modify my lessons as needed to reach all
students.
