PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am a highly committed and professional Primary School and Junior High School teacher with over a decade of experience and proven knowledge of Classroom management and student centered approach. My passion for education led me to study Primary Education Studies at the College level and Educational Management at the University level respectively.
I am calm, passionate and patient. I have the ability and potential to inspire and encourage children to reach their full potential. I am a passionate and inspiring educator, committed to building a strong foundation of life lessons to the young minds of our future generation.
With my College Certificate in Primary Education Studies, I have experience in all Primary subjects. During my work experience with Primary 3 & 4 children (Age 5 – 7), I was responsible for teaching Mathematics, Elementary Science, Quantitative & Verbal Reasoning, Social Studies, Computer and Languages, assisting individual children and small groups. Activities included reading and telling stories, spelling and physical education / Sport.
I also have experience at Junior High School (Age 11 – 13), giving me insight in to teaching an older age range of children. I was involved in assisting students who required extra support in learning activities. Knowing that the teaching profession is demanding, I am a hardworking and enthusiastic teacher who is always seeking to improve my own performance/methodologies in the classroom and I take responsibility for my own professional development.
I believe in providing conducive learning environment for the children by making use of all available learning materials /Resources including Human ones. Enabling children to be independent learners and thinkers is a must and necessary.
I joined the teaching profession with the goal of continually transferring and expanding my knowledge and spirit of excellence to my students and colleagues through quality educational / quality assurance services. I desire to continuously develop my career in the teaching profession as this affords me the opportunity to make the world a better place by improving the quality of lives via quality educational services.
As an achievement and fulfillment of been a primary school teacher, I am happy to witness 75% of the primary 3&4 pupils that I taught between 2006-2009 have graduated with good honors Degrees from different Universities in Nigeria.
In addition to the above, my love for teaching clearly demonstrated in my students’ examination results in the last nine years, an average of 75% of my Junior Secondary School Students achieved Grades B in English Language and Social Studies in their Basic Education Certificate Examination and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination respectively.
