About
My name is Fergie Maitel Gonzales, 33 years old and single, with no children. I graduated with a Bachelor of Elementary Education from Philippine Normal University in Manila, Philippines, on April 5, 2013. From 2019 to 2021, I pursued a Master of Arts in Education, major in Education Management, at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where I completed 36 academic units. I am a licensed teacher with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to your school community as a dedicated elementary educator.
Every child has the right to feel included, valued, and supported in the learning process. I strive to create a classroom environment that celebrates diversity, where students feel safe to express themselves and take risks. I am dedicated to fostering the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of my students. By addressing these aspects holistically, I aim to prepare them for success in both academic and life pursuits.
I taught at Renato Lopez Elementary School in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines, as a 5th and 6th grade teacher, handling English and Science for 10 years (June 22, 2015- July 9, 2025). In addition, I spent 2 years teaching in private schools.
I served as the School English Chairperson for 9 years, where I led reading initiatives, monitored student progress through our Reading Chart system, and managed intervention programs to improve literacy outcomes. I designed and implemented the ELIT-RP (Empower Learners with In-depth Techniques in Reading Proficiency) program for Grades 4 to 6, using data from the Phil-IRI Reading Assessment to provide targeted strategies for strengthening students’ reading skills. I also served as an English module writer for our Division during the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing to the development of learning materials that supported students in remote learning. In addition, I have actively trained students for various English-related contests, such as reading interpretation, declamation, and reading comprehension competitions, helping them build confidence and perform successfully. In 2021, I represented the Philippines in the Korea-Philippines Online Teacher Exchange Program (OTEP), where I introduced Filipino culture to Korean students through creative and engaging virtual lessons.
