As a Global Teacher Prize finalist and Professional Learning Community (PLC) Coordinator in my school, I have demonstrated my ability to inspire both students and fellow educators through innovative, technology-driven, and inclusive teaching practices. My experience training over 4,000 teachers in effective mathematics instruction and digital integration has strengthened my capacity to adapt to diverse learning environments and promote academic success.
In the classroom, I create engaging lessons that help students see the beauty and relevance of mathematics in everyday life. Beyond academic achievement, I nurture confidence, critical thinking, and creativity. My passion for excellence, cross-cultural experience, and dedication to continuous improvement make me well-suited to contribute meaningfully to your school community and its vision for educational excellence.
About
I hold a Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Cape Coast and was trained at Mampong Technical Teachers College. Currently, I teach mathematics at Achimota Senior High School, one of Ghana’s premier institutions. My commitment to quality teaching earned me a place among the Top 10 Finalists of the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize 2021, a testament to my dedication and impact in the classroom.
My teaching philosophy centers on making mathematics engaging, relevant, and accessible. I use activity-based, student-centered approaches that incorporate technology, real-life applications, and creative methods such as songs and poems to deepen understanding. I have developed interactive PowerPoint lesson slides for the entire national mathematics syllabus, used GeoGebra and PhET simulations to animate mathematical concepts, and created recorded video lessons for student revision—practices that have significantly improved learning outcomes.
Beyond the classroom, I have trained over four thousand teachers in integrating instructional technology in mathematics education and contributed as a curriculum developer for Ghana’s new standards-based senior high school mathematics curriculum (2021–2025). I also helped adapt the national curriculum and teacher’s manuals for blind learners, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to mathematics education.
In 2015, I participated in the International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) at Clemson University, South Carolina, where I gained valuable insights into U.S. education systems and cross-cultural teaching practices. I am now eager to contribute to and learn from an international teaching environment that fosters innovation, collaboration, and global understanding.
