About
I am an experienced Geography and Social Studies teacher with close to a decade of classroom practice across senior high, junior high, and remedial education settings. I hold a Bachelor of Education degree in Geography and Economics from the University of Cape Coast and have been actively teaching since completing my national service. My approach to teaching balances structure with empathy, combining clear routines, practical examples, and patient guidance to help students understand complex ideas and perform better academically.
I am known for creating lessons that are engaging but grounded, with a strong focus on relevance and real-world application. Rather than teaching only for examinations, I place emphasis on understanding, critical thinking, and steady improvement, especially for students who struggle initially. Over the years, this approach has helped me build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues alike.
I demonstrate strong classroom management skills, maintaining productive learning environments while remaining approachable and responsive to students’ needs. I am effective in lesson planning and differentiation, often adapting the same lesson to suit learners at different ability levels. My communication style is clear and direct, which has proven valuable in both teaching and parent engagement. I work well in teams, collaborate with form masters and remedial staff, and use basic computing tools to prepare instructional materials, monitor student progress, and support assessment.
Throughout my career, I have contributed to measurable academic improvements. At Academy of Christ the King Senior High School, my teaching and academic support strategies contributed to an estimated 20% improvement in Geography and Social Studies pass rates. At APlus Remedial Centre, the use of targeted instruction and personalized learning plans led to approximately a 30% increase in WASSCE pass rates among students I supported. I have also played a role in increasing student interest and enrollment in Geography as an elective subject.
I have served as a Geography and Social Studies teacher at Academy of Christ the King Senior High School since September 2016. In addition to classroom teaching, I have coordinated the activities of over fifty form masters and mistresses, supported academic planning, and implemented revision and intervention programmes aimed at improving student outcomes.
I also work part-time at APlus Remedial Centre in Cape Coast, where I design and deliver personalized instruction for WASSCE candidates. My role involves small-group and one-on-one teaching, focused on addressing learning gaps and strengthening examination confidence.
Previously, I taught Social Studies at Golden Treasures International School (Junior High School), where I supported curriculum delivery and contributed to improved student performance through interactive and discussion-based teaching methods.
During my national service at Asebuman Senior High School, I taught Geography and Social Studies and served as a form master. This period laid the foundation for my professional practice, helping me develop classroom confidence, organizational skills, and effective student engagement strategies.
