About
Professional Summary
My name is Eric Blankson Asiedu, an experienced and dedicated Mathematics educator with over 15 years of teaching experience at both the basic and secondary school levels in Ghana. I currently serve as a Mathematics Teacher and Subject Head at KNUST Senior High School under the Ghana Education Service. I hold a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Mathematics Education, a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics, and additional qualifications in Basic Education. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to helping students develop strong mathematical understanding, critical thinking skills, and confidence in learning.
Skills
I possess strong instructional and classroom management skills, with expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, assessment design, and differentiated instruction. I am proficient in integrating technology into teaching and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, and macOS platforms. My professional strengths include effective communication, teamwork, leadership, time management, student mentoring, academic counseling, and data-driven instructional practices. As an Assistant Examiner for national examinations, I have developed exceptional attention to detail, assessment literacy, and analytical skills.
Achievements
Throughout my teaching career, I have contributed significantly to student academic success. While teaching at Achinakrom Senior High School, I collaborated with colleagues to increase the pass rate in Mathematics in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from 56% to 87%. I currently serve as Head of the Mathematics Department at KNUST Senior High School, where I provide academic leadership and support curriculum implementation. My commitment to professional growth is demonstrated through continuous participation in educational workshops, professional development programs, and instructional training. I have also served as an Assistant Examiner for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) since 2016, contributing to the assessment and evaluation of national examination scripts.
Professional Experience
I currently teach Core and Elective Mathematics at KNUST Senior High School, where I design instructional materials, deliver engaging lessons, assess student learning, and mentor students as a Form Master. Prior to this role, I taught Mathematics at Achinakrom Senior High School from 2015 to 2020, serving both as a teacher and student leader coordinator while contributing to improved academic outcomes. From 2010 to 2015, I taught Mathematics and General Science at Kwamang D/A School, where I also managed school sports programs and led students to success in district competitions. My teaching journey began during my teaching practice at Assin Adubease Methodist School, where I gained valuable experience in classroom instruction and student mentorship.
With extensive teaching experience, strong academic qualifications, leadership experience, and a passion for student success, I am prepared to contribute positively to a diverse educational environment in the United States. I am committed to fostering inclusive classrooms, promoting high academic standards, and helping students achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
