About
My name is Elecel Castro Pocong. I was born on June 21, 1989, in San Rafael, Cateel, Davao Oriental, Philippines. I completed my elementary education at San Rafael Elementary School in 2002, where I developed a strong foundation in basic education and discipline. I then pursued my secondary education at Cateel Vocational High School, graduating in 2006, which further shaped my interest in science and learning.
In pursuit of higher education, I enrolled at Holy Cross of Davao College, where I earned the degree Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Sciences in 2015. After completing my studies, I became a licensed professional teacher and began my teaching career at Maryknoll Academy of Cateel, Davao Oriental, serving from 2016 to 2018. I taught Science subjects to junior and senior high school students and gained valuable experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement. During my teaching tenure, I was also entrusted with the role of Student Activity Coordinator, where I helped organize and supervise school programs and student activities that promoted leadership and holistic development.
In 2019, I moved to Taiwan and started working as a factory worker at PTI Semiconductor, where I have been employed for more than six years to the present. This experience allowed me to develop strong qualities such as discipline, adaptability, teamwork, and resilience in a fast-paced industrial environment. Working abroad also enhanced my ability to adjust to different cultures and professional settings.
Although my current work is outside the field of education, my passion for teaching and learning remains strong. My journey as an educator and an overseas worker has shaped me into a responsible, hardworking, and goal-oriented individual. I continue to aspire to return to the education sector, where I can apply my academic background, teaching experience, and life skills to contribute meaningfully to student growth and institutional development.
