About
My name is Dixie G. Morente, a teacher with 17 years of teaching experience including 4 years experience in inclusive education. I am currently teaching at La Union National High School in La Union, Philippines as a 7th, 9th, 10th grade P.E, Music, and Arts teacher. I want to express my interest to apply as a special education teacher in your school.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Physical Education at Saint Louis College in La Union, Philippines last March 30, 2007. I pursued Master of Arts in Education major in Special Education at Saint Louis College from 2023-present with 39 academic units. I firmly believe in the power of individualized education. Every student has a unique set of strengths, challenges, and learning styles. My approach involves tailoring instruction to meet each student where they are, utilizing differentiated strategies and accommodations to provide a personalized learning experience that maximizes their progress.
In my classroom, inclusivity is not just a goal; it is a fundamental principle. I am committed to creating an environment where every student feels valued, respected, and included. Recognizing and celebrating diversity is essential to building a community where differences are embraced, and each student can thrive academically and socially. I adopt a strengths-based approach to education, focusing not only on addressing challenges but also on identifying and nurturing each student's inherent strengths and talents. By emphasizing what students can do rather than what they struggle with, I aim to build confidence, resilience, and a positive self-image.
