About
My name is Diosa G. Misme, a secondary Mathematics teacher with 13 years of
teaching experience. I am currently teaching at Phayaopittayakhom School
in Phayao, Thailand as a 7th to 9th grade Mathematics teacher. I want to express my interest to apply as a Mathematics teacher in your school.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics at La
Carlota City College in Negros Occidental, Philippines last March 28, 2010. I pursued
Master of Arts Program major in English at University of Phayao in Phayao, Thailand
and graduated last May 26, 2023. Mathematics is not merely a collection of
formulas and procedures; it is a dynamic and integral part of our daily lives. Rather
than emphasizing memorization of formulas and procedures, I prioritize the
development of a deep understanding of mathematical principles. I encourage
students to explore the "why" behind the "how" and to appreciate the
interconnectedness of mathematical concepts. This approach not only facilitates
problem-solving but also equips students with a lasting foundation for future
learning.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that understanding the intrinsic
value of mathematics is crucial for students. I aim to demonstrate the real-world
applications of mathematical concepts, fostering an appreciation for the subject's
relevance. I view students as whole individuals with academic, social, and
emotional needs that influence their success in mathematics. I use differentiated
approaches to build on students’ strengths and address their challenges. In my
classroom, diversity is celebrated, and inclusivity is paramount. I am committed to
creating a space where every student feels valued and has equal access to
mathematical learning opportunities. Recognizing and respecting the unique
backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities of each student is fundamental to
promoting a positive and equitable educational experience.
I am a team player. I try my best to contribute my skills and resources for the benefit
of my team and the school in general. I am willing to do an interview in your most
convenient time. My email address is diosagmisme@gmail.com.
