About
I am an experienced secondary educator and education professional with approximately 10 years of teaching experience in Biology and Chemistry, supported by a Bachelor’s Degree in Education Science and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. I have taught learners across secondary-school grade levels in the Kenyan education system and have experience working with Kenyan, American, Canadian and IGCSE curriculum contexts.
From 2015 to June 2018, I taught Biology and Chemistry at Visionary High School, and since July 2018 I have served at Jamhuri High School in Nairobi, where I have taught Biology and Chemistry across all classes. In addition to classroom teaching, I have held leadership responsibilities including Head of Guidance and Counselling, Head of Clubs and Societies, Patron of Music and Environment-related clubs, and mentorship responsibilities.
My strengths include curriculum delivery, differentiated instruction, learner assessment, classroom management, data-informed decision-making, student mentorship, stakeholder engagement and educational programme coordination. I use assessment results, learner work, practical activities, classroom observations and continuous assessment to identify learning gaps and adapt instruction to improve student outcomes.
I have also developed strong experience in education quality assurance, standards, policy implementation and monitoring through my professional work with the Ministry of Education. This has strengthened my ability to analyse educational programmes, support schools and teachers, interpret evidence and promote continuous improvement.
I am passionate about creating inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environments where students are challenged academically, encouraged to develop confidence and equipped with skills for lifelong learning. My combination of classroom experience, educational leadership, HRM expertise and quality-assurance experience enables me to contribute effectively both as a teacher and as a broader education professional.
