About
I am responsible, hard-working and friendly young man who is known of my strong passion to attain a career as primary school teacher. I firmly believe that in order to become a great teacher, the desire to help children should be there. The learning process can be tough and challenging, which is one of the reasons why I really love this profession. My interest in primary school education started when I was a voluntary teacher at Osei Sarpong International School in the year, 2011.My decision at that time was geared toward helping children between the ages of 5 years to 11 years to learn. I found it particularly rewarding to finally see the satisfying look on a child's face as they finish their Mathematics work, or join a group activities. The feeling that I was able to help provide the learners trust and confidence in themselves is just so great.
Closely working with children and parents has greatly improved my overall confidence in teaching. By the end of the off-campus teaching practices at Offinso College of Education Demonstrations Primary School, I just found myself humming to some of the technique and methods I used to guide the children to learn and solve Mathematics questions and word problems in Mathematics. I had the opportunity to shadow as a teacher at our local Primary School after I have completed the Offinso College in the year, 2015. I was able to assist the children in reading, helping them with word that they think are difficult to pronounce. I also participated in Mathematics lesson tutorials where children are worked with their lessons. I just loved having the responsibility of supervising children as they learn and interact with different types of children.
After teaching for sometimes, I then further my Education at University of Cape (UCC) where I offered Bachelor of Education in Mathematics, I wanted to acquire much knowledge and skills in teaching of the children. My degree has trained me to cover National Curriculum Subjects, and my subject Specialisms are Mathematics and Economics, with an electives in Information Literacy and communicative skills in English Language. I have also studied Mathematics at Subject leader level, and am going to be jointly presenting Professional Learning Community (P.L.C.) session for teachers. I would eventually like to be the coordinator for this subject in the school in which I will work.
