About
My name is Danica May Rillo, and I am an elementary teacher from the Philippines with a strong passion for helping young learners grow not only in academics but also in confidence and character. Over the years, I have gained teaching experience from Grade 1 to Grade 6, which has allowed me to understand the different learning needs, behaviors, and abilities of pupils across various grade levels. This experience has helped me become more flexible, patient, and creative in my teaching approach.
I finished my Bachelor of Elementary Education major in General Education and also earned units in Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education to further strengthen my professional growth as an educator. In my daily teaching practice, I make it a point to design lessons that are engaging, meaningful, and connected to real-life situations. I also enjoy using creative and thematic approaches, as well as digital tools like Canva, to make learning more interactive and enjoyable for my students.
Aside from classroom teaching, I am also actively involved in the development of learning modules and instructional materials not only for our district but for the entire division as well. Being part of these collaborative works has given me the opportunity to share ideas and contribute to the improvement of teaching resources used by many teachers and learners.
I also serve as a MAPEH District Coordinator, where I participate in seminars and trainings that keep me updated with new teaching strategies and educational trends. I always make it a point to share what I learn with my fellow teachers because I believe that collaboration and continuous learning are essential in education.
More than anything, I strive to create a classroom environment where learners feel safe, supported, and motivated to do their best. For me, teaching is not just about delivering lessons—it is about shaping learners who are confident, responsible, and ready for life.
