Hello, My Name is Clarisa E Fabrigar, I have been in the field of teaching for 19 yrs in the Philippines, including 7 years in elemantary education and 12 years as kindergarten teacher. Before that, I taught elementary students in a remote mountain school where I handled a Multi grade class from Grades 1,2,3,4. I have a grade 4 student aged 16 yrs old who are still struggling to read . Many of them are lack of confidence and felt discouraged. So, I began by assessing their reading abilities using different assessment tools, I used step by step reading activities taht suited to their level. I also conducted daily reading drills and provide one on one support and I continuously encourage them. And because they have improvement so I make sure to praise every improvement they have to help build their confidence so, overtime they were able to read independently. the most rewarding moment was when their parents express their gratitude and pride because their child could finally read. Those experiences strengthen my commitment to teaching, and helped me become more patient, flexible, and also reminded me that education can truly change lives.
