About
I am Benedicta Esinam Dorgbefu, teacher of Home Economics and Culinary Arts Teacher with 5 years experience in Ghana. I lead and teach at Senior High Technical School for the Deaf, where I combine culinary instruction with special education. My students learn food preparation, safety, and career skills through hands-on, visual teaching methods tailored for deaf and hard-of-hearing learners.I manage our culinary lab, teach food safety and HACCP, and prepare students for WASSCE exams and hospitality careers. I also have 6 months industry experience in hotels, working in food service, housekeeping, and front office. This gives my students real-world skills, not just theory.
I’m passionate about empowering students with practical skills for independence and employment. I’m now seeking a J-1 teaching opportunity in the US to share my expertise in Culinary Arts and Special Education while learning new teaching methods to bring back home.
