About
My ambition to be a teacher was driven by the love for children and the desire to impact knowledge
and shape their developmental dreams, all thanks to Miss Doris our Sunday school teacher. I had the
opportunity to attend a teacher training college where I acquired a diploma in Basic education and
after teaching at the elementary school for some years I later further my education, I graduated with
a bachelor’s degree in education. I believe education is the key and the only means individual
potential can be uncovered.
Teaching becomes more interesting when everything is focused on the students and that has been
the practice in my class making teaching practical and interactive irrespective of their ability and
background. Coming into the teaching profession with a background in Education and Information
technology I believe strongly that I will be able to teach students how to approach and solve
problems and think critically. I want to be the type of teacher to encourage learners with confidence,
creativity preparing them to overcome challenges.
I had the chance to teach at basic and the secondary school for eleven years, and I can equivocally
say that teaching at the lower level is quite demanding and involves a lot of devotion, but it’s worth
it as compared to the other level. Having worked as a teacher for the past four years, I have
developed the pedagogical skills, this is something I looked forward to building on throughout my
training. I planned my lesson to cater for varying abilities of learners, assisted slow learners with
extra tuition after school session, I have good communication skills, create a good learning
environment for all, assess and give feedback to my learners which I believe is a step in a good
direction for an effective teaching and learning.
My background knowledge and skills acquired during my undergraduate study has furnished me
with the requisite academic establishment in teaching Information teaching. I am prepared to
abreast my self with the current trends of teaching and avail myself to learn modern educational
practices. My personal characteristics further contribute to my qualities as a teacher. I believe in
building a strong relationship with my student and creating an effective learning environment for
every learner, understanding their strengths and weakness and respect for their views.
I am committed to inspire and empower learners reach their full potentials. Looking forward to

generational thinkers irrespective of their background.
