About
I am a Mathematics teacher with over eight years of teaching experience in both Ghana and Thailand. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education, which has been evaluated by SpanTran and confirmed to be equivalent to U.S. teaching standards. I am also a licensed teacher in Ghana and hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the United Kingdom. These experiences and qualifications have prepared me well to work effectively within a U.S. school system.
Over the years, I have worked with students from many different backgrounds and ability levels. One of my proudest achievements has been helping students improve their performance in Mathematics, especially those who initially struggled with the subject. Through extra support, clear explanations, and consistent practice, I have seen noticeable improvements in test results, class participation, and student confidence.
Teaching in two different countries has also been a major achievement in my career. It required flexibility, strong classroom management, and the ability to quickly understand new curricula and expectations. I successfully adjusted my teaching style to fit different education systems while maintaining high standards and a structured learning environment.
Another area where I have had success is classroom management. I focus on creating a calm, respectful classroom where students feel safe to ask questions and see mistakes as part of the learning process, I have been able to reduce behavior issues and keep students engaged and focused on learning.
Beyond my classroom, I have actively worked with colleagues on lesson planning, assessments, and departmental goals. I value teamwork and believe students benefit most when teachers collaborate and support one another. These collaborations have helped improve consistency across classes and strengthened overall instruction.
I am passionate about teaching Mathematics and helping students succeed. I believe in setting high expectations while offering the support students need to reach them. My international teaching experience, strong subject knowledge, and commitment to continuous improvement would allow me to contribute positively to a U.S. school community
